MEENAKSHI GUPTA – Travel Writer and Blogger

After teaching Marketing for 12 years, I entered the Tourism Industry as a Marketing Professional promoting Destinations and Travel and Tourism Events. In 2005 joined a travel magazine as a  full-time Editor and a media person for a Travel Trade Fair company.

Worked as Marketing Representative for Singapore Tourism Board for 3 years in South India. Has been working closely with the South Indian travel trade and has extensive experience in handling Events, PR, partnerships and marketing. Has been involved in promotional activities for various international and domestic tourism destinations.

Worked as Project Manager / Web Content Manager at Karnataka Tourism, Government of Karnataka managing the website, curating content, SEO and analyzing the performance of the website www.karnatakatourism.org . Contributed result-oriented (SEO) 100 plus articles/blogs & pages to the website. Worked towards meeting the KPIs and KRAs and achieved the website traffic (number of visitors) of 28,71,544 in the year 2022 as against the target of 60000 visitors with an increase of 146.19 % increase from the previous year ( 2021).

With almost 23 years of experience of which 15 years in the Tourism Industry, I am a travel writer, blogger, media professional, digital marketer, Runner, amateur trekker and of course a foodie.

I recently decided to get with the times and started blogging about my travel, food and experiences. As a beginner, it also inspired me to share my trekking stories with fellow trekkers. My stories are documented on www.tanhadil.in

My blog also encourages and motivates women to start solo travelling and trekking and know everything about trekking, especially after 40. I started trekking at the age of 47 with ailments like Asthma, High Blood Pressure, Knee issues and Thyroid. As she says ‘ If I can do it anyone can do it. Starting with Day Treks she did a Snow Himalayan Summit Kedarkantha of 12500 feet high last year. In 2021 she completed Everest Base Camp at 17500 feet and in 2023 Kashmir Great Lakes Trek at 14200 feet high. 

The blog www.Tanhadil.in ‘s solemn goal is to inspire more and more women to take up solo travelling, hiking and trekking, which they aspire to without any inhibition.
